Recognized as a transformational leader in education, Dr. Jennifer Williams has dedicated herself for over 20 years to the field of education through her roles as a school administrator, literacy specialist, and classroom teacher. Currently, as the co-founder and lead program developer for Calliope Global, Jennifer works with schools, universities, and organizations from around the world on initiatives that empower teachers and students to learn and explore together as digital composers in common learning spaces. She is a Professor for Saint Leo University in the Colleges of Education and Graduate Education and serves on the Board of Directors for the International Literacy Association. Jennifer is currently working as a Lead Educator on the United Nations Global Goals Educator Task Force examining the role of the Sustainable Development Goals in education. In her role as Director of Education Strategy at Participate and through her vision of providing authentic opportunities for learning with use of advanced educational practices, she champions teachers, preservice teachers, and students to prepare for their futures in a world that will prioritize creativity, innovation, and exploration. Jennifer speaks, writes, and consults on practices that develop global perspectives through creative uses of technology, and her research interests include multimodal literacy and digital technologies, equity and diversity in education, and student-centered pedagogies.. She is the co-founder of Edcamp Tampa Bay and Edcamp Literacy, and she writes for Edutopia, Education Week, Pearson English, and the International Literacy Association. She is also a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, Nearpod PioNear, Kahoot! Founding Ambassador, and a contributing author for Edutopia, Education Week, Getting Smart, and International Literacy Association. In 2016, Jennifer was named #33 of the 200 Top Education Influencers and and in 2017 named #13 of the Top Women Edtech Influencers by Onalytica based on her work in education and educational technology.
